CLEAR FROM THE START

Terms & cancellations

These terms explain how bookings, payments and cancellations work. We have kept them as straightforward as possible so you know what to expect before confirming a clean.

About these terms

These terms apply to cleaning services supplied by Blue Oak Cleaning Company in Maidenhead, Berkshire and surrounding areas. You can contact us at [email protected] or +44 7368 186917. Our full correspondence address and the details relevant to your service will be included with your booking information.

Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have under UK consumer law.

Quotes and bookings

Sending the website form is an enquiry, not a booking. We may ask for photographs or further details before giving you a quote. A booking is made only when you accept the final quote and we confirm the agreed service, price, date and time in writing.

Quotes are based on the information you give us. Please tell us about anything that may affect the work, including heavy soiling, restricted access, parking arrangements or specialist surfaces. If the property or work is materially different when we arrive, we will explain any change in price or timing before carrying out additional work. You may decline that additional work.

What we need from you

Please make sure we can enter the property at the agreed time and that there is running water, electricity and a safe working environment. Tell us beforehand about pets, alarms, fragile or valuable items, damaged surfaces and any products that must or must not be used.

Unless your quote says otherwise, you are responsible for arranging lawful parking and telling us about any charges or restrictions. We will handle keys and access information carefully and use them only to provide the agreed service.

Prices and payment

Your confirmed quote will state the price, what is included, when payment is due and how it can be paid. We will not add charges that were not agreed with you. Larger or specialist jobs may require a reasonable deposit; if so, the amount and any circumstances in which it may be retained will be explained before you book.

If an undisputed payment becomes overdue, please contact us promptly. We will give you a reasonable opportunity to put matters right before taking further action.

Changing or cancelling a booking

Plans change, so please contact us as soon as possible if you need to rearrange or cancel. If you give us at least 48 hours’ notice, we will normally rearrange or cancel the booking without charge.

With less than 48 hours’ notice, or if we cannot gain access at the agreed time, we may ask you to cover a reasonable amount of the loss caused by the cancellation. This will never be an automatic penalty. We will take account of costs we have saved, whether the appointment can be filled and any deposit already paid, and we will not charge more than our genuine direct loss.

If we need to cancel, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and offer a new appointment. If that is unsuitable, we will refund any payment made for work we have not provided. We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the booking was made.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer and agree the booking by telephone, email or another distance method, you will normally have 14 days from the day the contract is made to change your mind. You can cancel by contacting us clearly by email or telephone; you do not need to use particular wording.

If you ask us to begin during those 14 days and then cancel after work has started, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to that point. If the service has been completed during the cancellation period at your express request, and you acknowledged beforehand that completion would end the cancellation right, that right may no longer apply. We will ask for the necessary express request and acknowledgement separately when relevant.

If something is not right

Please inspect the work when reasonably possible and tell us promptly if you believe something agreed has been missed. Photographs can help us understand the issue. Where appropriate, we will arrange to inspect or correct the affected work within a reasonable time.

Our services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, ordinary wear, or an outcome that was not reasonably achievable and was explained before the work began.

Events outside our control

Sometimes a booking may be affected by circumstances we could not reasonably prevent, such as severe weather, illness, transport disruption or an unsafe property. We will contact you, minimise the disruption and rearrange or refund any unprovided work as appropriate.

Personal information

We use personal information to prepare quotes, manage bookings and provide the service. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

Changes and disagreements

The terms supplied when you confirm a booking are the ones that apply to that booking. We may update this website page for future bookings, but we will not retrospectively change an existing agreement.

Please contact us first if you have a complaint so we have an opportunity to resolve it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any right you have to bring a claim in the courts that apply where you live.
